Last month, Mark Chesnutt was forced to cancel his upcoming shows after undergoing emergency surgery. More recently, he has provided an update on his health and teased his return to the big stage.

On his official Instagram account, the singer shared a video of his performance at one of his previous concerts and expressed his excitement to be back on stage.

“I’m recovering comfortably at home. But I’m looking forward to getting out there singing with the band and the fans!” he added.

As of this writing, Mark Chesnutt has not announced his next tour or performances as he is still recovering from surgery.

The recent update comes after the singer revealed that he had to cancel all upcoming shows after undergoing emergency coronary artery bypass surgery.

“I send my love and gratitude to my family, friends, band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all at a local pub near you soon,” he wrote at the time.

This isn’t the first time Chesnutt has had health issues, as he was also hospitalized and placed in intensive care last November. At the time, his team described it as testing and treatment. Two weeks later, he took to social media to share that “the fight is over.”

He also said he had been struggling with “a battle” he had been fighting for many years, and after suffering “serious health problems”, he wanted to take some time off to recover.

“I will be taking a break from touring for the next few months to focus on my recovery… to take care of myself, my family, and so that I can continue to hit the road, to give back to ALL of those who have supported, cared for, and loved me unconditionally throughout my career,” he wrote in November.

Mark Chesnutt, known as the Legend of Honky Tonk, achieved huge success in the 90s. He released 20 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart during his career.

Some of the songs that his fans have loved over the years are “Gonna Get a Life”, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”, “I Just Wanted You to Know” and many more.
