A biopic of sorts, The End of the Tour tells the story of the five-day interview between Rolling Stones journalist David Lipsky and writer David Foster Wallace. As is the case with almost every Eisenberg performance, he utilizes his charisma to brings intellectualism to life like few other actors can.
The End of the Tour also features a great performance from Jason Segel, who earned a nomination for Best Male Lead at the Independent Spirit Awards for his performance.

Eisenberg character’s intelligence, while visible on his face, hides behind a veil of loneliness. Hereditary
The feature film debut of writer-director Ari Aster, Hereditary tells the story of the unwittingly cursed Graham family. Annie Graham (Toni Collette) lives with her husband Steve (Gabriel Byrne) and their children Peter (Alex Wolff) and Charlie (Milly Shapiro). After the death of Annie’s mother, the family is beset by disaster and stalked by a supernatural entity that dredges up a past that Annie had spent her life trying to overlook.

However, the scariest moments of all doesn’t involve any supernatural entity. Instead, it’s the haunting performance by Toni Collette as Annie that stands out the most, especially as her grief overtakes her. It’s her iconic dinner table monologue that proves to be the film’s biggest moment, and a stand out scene from an impressive performance.

Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse features one of the best Willem Dafoe performances ever. It follows Willem Dafoe’s Thomas Wake, an old lighthouse keeper. Wake struggles tries to survive the scary supernatural occurrences that plague him and his younger lighthouse mate, played by Robert Pattinson.
Dafoe’s character is chaotic and angry, and his wild performance perfectly matches the terrifying atmosphere of the movie.
