9 Characters Ice Age 6 Needs To Bring Back After 8 Years

With Ice Age 6 seemingly in the works, it’s worth considering which iconic characters from the franchise the latest installment needs to bring back. Sid voice actor John Leguizamo has confirmed Ice Age 6 in a recent interview, which will be the newest entry in the main series of films, the most recent being Ice Age: Collision Course in 2016. Although the gang does come back in 2022’s The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, this is, in fact, a spin-off title.

Because of Buck Wild, the upcoming movie is technically Ice Age 7. Over the years, the Ice Age movies have kept children and adults alike entertained with all manner of adventures and escapades, led by Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth, and Diego the Sabertooth Cat. There is hope that Ice Age 6 will undo Disney’s mistake and bring back the original voice actors to reprise their roles, too. While it can be assumed that Sid, Diego, and Manny will come back, many are wondering which other prominent figures will return as well.

8 Scrat

Scrat the wild little squirrel is easily the best character in Ice Age. The hilarious animal often appears throughout the films, consistently on a never-ending quest to retrieve his beloved acorn, which results in many hysterically funny moments. Scrat’s appearances in the Ice Age franchise are frequent, and he pops up in every movie, short, and TV series, except for The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, surprisingly. In the Ice Age YouTube skit “The End,” Scrat finally achieves his dream, eats his acorn, and scurries away.

Ice-Age-Scrat Related I Desperately Hope Ice Age 6 Doesn’t Ruin Scrat’s Happy Ending

Scrat finally got his happy ending when the Ice Age franchise was concluded in 2022, and now that it is coming back, I am worried about Scrat.

The video is no longer available officially, although others have re-uploaded it. While Blue Sky Studios’ last video creation implies that Scrat’s funniest moments in Ice Age have come to an end, it has never been confirmed, and so there is still the possibility that the erratic squirrel could star in Ice Age 6. Even though his ultimate mission is complete, Ice Age knows just how popular Scrat is with generations of viewers, and it would seem illogical not to bring him back again.

7 Ellie

Ellie’s introduction in Ice Age: The Meltdown is a fantastic moment in the series. When Manny meets Ellie, it proves that he isn’t alone in the world and that the mammoth species isn’t completely extinct, as he once believed. Ellie’s character development throughout is stellar. She is initially very naive and is unaware that she is a mammoth because of her upbringing with her opossum siblings, Crash and Eddie. Ellie becomes a wife to Manny and a mother to Peaches in later Ice Age movies, and she is a crucial member of the herd.

Ellie is a core component of the gang, and it’s easy to forget that she isn’t there from the beginning.

Ellie plays a significant role in The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, bravely allowing her brothers to face life on their own and stay in the Lost World. This moment shows her growth throughout the franchise, and she’s hugely different from the childish character she is in The Meltdown. It would be strange for Ellie not to be in Ice Age 6, especially as her relationship with Peaches is such an important part of Ice Age: Continental Drift. Ellie is a core component of the gang, and it’s easy to forget that she isn’t there from the beginning.

6 Peaches

Peaches is the only main Ice Age character to be born into the franchise, and audiences watch Manny and Ellie’s daughter grow up and blossom into her own throughout the films. Ellie gives birth to Peaches in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and by Ice Age: Collision Course, she has become an adult and is due to get married. Strangely, Peaches isn’t in The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, although it can be assumed that she is off enjoying her honeymoon with Julian after their wedding at the end of Collision Course.

Peaches’ absence in the last Ice Age movie is noticeable, especially as she becomes a staple of the franchise immediately after her birth. Plus, because she’s Manny’s daughter, viewers are more curious about her than other characters. Peaches has made references to having her own children, too, and it would be interesting to see Manny and Ellie as grandparents in Ice Age 6. Even if she doesn’t, an update on Peaches and Julian’s marriage would also be an intriguing possible storyline, too.

5 Crash & Eddie

Ellie’s quirky opossum brothers, Crash and Eddie, are a great form of comic relief in the Ice Age films. Although they leave the herd in The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild and decide to stay in the Lost World, they do come back and visit their friends often. Buck Wild’s ending loosely suggests that the pair aren’t going to be as prominent in the franchise’s future, but considering Crash and Eddie have an entire spin-off movie that focuses on them quite a bit, their stories definitely aren’t over, either.

Crash and Eddie are a perfect addition to any

The two’s adventurous hijinks always cause chaos and laughter, even in titles where they take a back seat. Their relationship with Sid is brilliant, and their supposed dislike of him is a particularly funny running gag in several of the movies. However, they jump in and save him from danger when it is needed, like in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Crash and Eddie may not play a big part in Ice Age 6, but they are definitely characters that the upcoming film must include.

4 Roshan

Roshan, or “Pinky,” is the motivator of the first Ice Age film, but the character has surprisingly never reappeared after this. After he is separated from his parents, Manny, Diego, and Sid take it upon themselves to reunite the baby with his family. Roshan is impressionable, naturally, and simply adorable. Although it takes time for Manny to warm up to him, Sid immediately bonds with Roshan, and Diego eventually throws out his plans to kill him in order to help his new companions. Roshan may not remember his adventure with them, but the trio has a great impact on him.

Ice-Age-Diego-Sid-Manny Related Ice Age Originally Planned To Kill Off A Main Character

When the original Ice Age was released in 2002, the filmmakers had intended to kill off one of the main characters, before test audiences disagreed.

For example, during his time with them, Roshan learns to walk. Despite having a brief cameo in the Scrat short film No Time For Nuts, which isn’t technically canon as it is implied to be a dream, Roshan doesn’t return to the Ice Age series. However, there is a cave drawing that depicts him in The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, which proves that he isn’t forgotten. Ice Age 6 is a fantastic opportunity to bring Roshan back as an adult, and it would be a fabulous way for the franchise to remember its roots.

3 Fast Tony

Last Seen: Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)

Fast Tony, the sharp-tongued armadillo, is a sleazy trader who first appears in Ice Age: The Meltdown. The hilarious character provides some of the funniest quotes in Ice Age in order to scam other animals into buying useless products from him, preying on their fears over the titular disaster. Fast Tony is the ultimate con man and uses others for his own gain. In fact, this is how he manages to survive the flood at the end of The Meltdown, and he uses his assistant Stu’s shell to save himself. But Fast Tony isn’t seen on-screen again.

Although the herd moves on, if anyone could mysteriously reappear out of nowhere, it’s him.

It’s unknown what happens to the peddler after this, which is a shame because he is such an enjoyable character. While he isn’t a main figure in Ice Age, Fast Tony’s ridiculous ways and comical personality are enough to warrant him cropping up again. Although the herd moves on, if anyone could mysteriously reappear out of nowhere, it’s him. Fast Tony seems to luck out a lot, so there’s no reason why he couldn’t cross paths with the trio again. Plus, he is rumored to be a part of the upcoming Ice Age Babies, suggesting a future for the character.

2 Buck

Buck is a one-eyed weasel who is first introduced in Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. Buck is a notable addition to the franchise because of his makeshift leaf eye patch, erratic behavior, and obsessive opinions of dinosaurs. In fact, the eccentric character’s archnemesis as a Baryonyx called Rudy and their ongoing battles provide multiple brilliant moments in the films. Buck is an essential part of Ice Age’s most recent movie, but strangely, Simon Pegg is the only original voice actor in The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild’s cast who reprises their role.

We interview The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild star Simon Pegg about reprising the titular character, the Galaxy Quest TV show, and more.

The later Ice Age installments take plenty of opportunities to push Buck as a character, and there’s nothing to suggest that this will change. Although he chooses to stay in the Lost World, Crash and Eddie’s decision to stay in Buck Wild establishes that the link between the jungle and the surface is no longer a restriction. If the opossums can go back, so can Buck. The unhinged weasel is often at the forefront of events, and his wacky choices are always hilarious to watch. Regardless of why he’s there, Buck must be a part of Ice Age 6.

1 Captain Gutt

Last Seen: Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)

Close

Captain Gutt is the main villain of Ice Age: The Meltdown. The cruel ape pirate causes significant damage to the herd, both physically and mentally, and hoards whatever food and supplies he can steal aboard his boat. Gutt dies at the end of The Meltdown, after his battle with Manny sends him flying into the water to get eaten by a siren. However, there is reason to suggest that Gutt isn’t actually killed. In the 2014 video game Ice Age Adventures, Gutt returns as a boss.

Based on the context of the mobile game, it seems that it is set after the events of Ice Age: Continental Drift, although it isn’t confirmed. However, Gutt is swallowed up by the Siren’s shell, and his actual demise isn’t seen, only implied. If he does survive, Gutt is clearly at a disadvantage without his ship or crew. But this is an endearing excuse for his return, too. Captain Gutt is a fantastic villain who terrorizes the entire herd, and he is easily the most tyrannous of Ice Age’s antagonists, so he’s definitely worth revisiting in Ice Age 6.
