Billie Eilish shares her disappointment after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election was announced.
On her Instagram Story on Wednesday, Eilish wrote, “It’s a war against women.”
That evening, she took the stage at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena for the “Birds of a Feather Tour”.
Midway through her performance, Eilish, who supported Kamala Harris during the campaign, interacted with the audience in Tennessee while sitting on stage with her guitar.
She began her emotional speech, “Woke up this morning, and it was almost impossible for me to comprehend performing on this day. But as the days went by, I felt more and more what a privilege it was to be able to perform.” do this with you guys.” you guys and that we had this at that time.”
“I love you guys so much,” Eilish told the crowd.
“I want you to know that you are safe with me. You are protected here and you are safe in this room,” she added.
Eilish then introduced the song “Your Power”, which was released in 2021.
“It’s about the abuse that exists in this world against women and a lot of the experiences that I’ve gone through and that people I know have gone through,” Eilish told the audience.
“And, to tell you the truth, I have never met a woman who hasn’t been abused,” she continued.
The Bad Guy hitmaker also shared that the essence of the song resonated with her experiences: “My limits have been crossed, to put it politely.”
“Now a convicted… a lot of things… Let’s say a convicted predator. Let’s say that,” she said. “An extreme misogynist is about to become President of the United States.”
She added, “And so, this song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you.”
