Early life

On December 26, 1959, Abdullahi Audu Sule was born in Akwanga-West Development Area, Nasarawa State.

In 1968, he began his formal education at the Roman Catholic Mission Primary School (RMC) at Gudi Station. He next joined the Government Technical College, Bukuru, in 1977 after graduating from Zang Secondary School in 1974.

In 1980, after finishing high school, he enrolled in Barkin Ladi’s Plateau State Polytechnic. Then, relying on a scholarship, he left Nigeria to study at Indiana University in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he graduated with a master’s degree in industrial technology and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical technology.

Career

Sule returned to Nigeria in 1985 as a youth corps member of the Plateau Utilities Commission. On October 1, 2018, he won the governorship primaries of the Nasarawa State Progressive Congress.

Engineer Abdullahi Sule was appointed as the new governor of Nasarawa on 10 March 2019, following the gubernatorial election on 9 March 2019. On 29 May 2019, he was sworn in as governor Governor of Nasarawa state.

On Monday, Professor Ishaya Tanko, State Collation Officer and Repatriation Officer of INEC, made the announcement at the Nasarawa State Collation Center in Lafia.

According to the INEC returning official, the APC candidate received 347,209 votes, defeating David Ombugadu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who received 283,016 votes.
