Early life and education
Adeoye ‘Elesho’ Adewale was born on January 10, 1959 in Ikirun, Osun State. His parents were strict and he was brought up very well by them.
He grew up in Ile Ife. According to him, he had a good life as a child and young man because his father was the Baale of his village.
Adeoye ‘Elesho’ Adewale started his education at Local Authority (LA) Primary School in Osun State. He later moved to Modern School in Ile Ife.
As a student at Modern School, he wished to learn how to sell pharmaceuticals and it was this wish that caused him to drop out of Modern School.
Career
Before venturing into acting, Adeoye ‘Elesho’ Adewale worked with various companies in various parts of Osun State and beyond. His acting career started during his primary school days.
According to him, when interviewed, he said he started his acting career from Ilorin. He said he and his crew started by performing stage plays in school.
He also said that the movie “Taxi Driver” really brought him to the limelight because it was the first optical movie he starred in. He met other veteran actors in the movie industry such as Baba Lere Paimo (Eda), Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Wole Olowomojuore, Ogun Majek of Ibadan, Olofa Ina, Toyosi Arigbabowo and many others.
He gradually became famous for his unique and legendary use of Yoruba words.
Adeoye ‘Elesho’ Adewale is a veteran Yoruba comedian who has become a big name in the Nollywood industry. His contributions to the Yoruba film industry are well documented. He is one of the most creative actors today.
