The pair were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, the actress Joanne Whalley, who had been together for 35 years and had a daughter, Madeleine, also an actress.
Anna also has a son from a previous marriage, Ted, who is a film producer and musician. Anna and Adrian live in London but also have a home in Donegal, Ireland, where they enjoy spending time with family and friends.
