AEW Rampage Spoilers This Week, Everything We Know

AEW Rampage

AEW Rampage, also known as Friday Night Rampage or simply Rampage, is an American professional wrestling television program produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The show airs on TNT every Friday at 10 pm ET, occasionally changing time slots for major sporting events, resulting in special Saturday night airings of “Rampage.”

The show premiered on August 13, 2021, becoming AEW’s second weekly television show, alongside its flagship show Wednesday Night Dynamite. In June 2023, AEW discontinued the YouTube show “Dark and Elevation” and launched “Saturday Collision” as their second main show. As a result, Rampage began focusing more on AEW’s up-and-coming and independent wrestlers, essentially serving the role of the company’s previous YouTube shows.

Episodes of Rampage are usually recorded after the previous episode of Dynamite has gone live, although some episodes may also be aired. Notably, Rampage is the second professional wrestling show to air on TNT since the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro on March 26, 2001.

AEW Rampage Overview

Rampage is AEW’s Friday night television show, airing immediately following WWE’s SmackDown on Fox. “Dynamite” has previously competed with WWE’s NXT from October 2019 to April 2021, but for “Rampage”, except for the special case of October 15, 2021, it will not usually compete with SmackDown’s Broadcast times overlap.

That night, SmackDown aired a “Supersized” episode, extending the show to 10:30 PM, directly competing with Rampage for the first 30 minutes of the show. During this period, Rampage performed better than SmackDown in the key 18-49 demographic, with 328,000 views compared to SmackDown’s 285,000 views.

Initially, both Dynamite and Rampage were slated to move to TBS, another WarnerMedia-owned channel, in January 2022. But it was later announced on September 23, 2021 that Rampage would remain on TNT, while only Dynamite would be moved to TBS.

In May 2022, the regular time slots of some Rampage episodes were adjusted to accommodate TNT’s coverage of sporting events such as the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs and the NBA Western Conference Finals.

After AEW’s YouTube show Dark and Elevation was canceled in April 2023, Rampage took on a new role of showcasing young wrestlers, essentially replacing Dark and Elevation’s services with the company. The change is part of a revised broadcast deal with Warner Bros. Discovery Channel (formerly WarnerMedia), which launches a new weekly Saturday show called “Collision,” premiering on TNT in June 2023.
