Early Life & Education
On February 17, 1971, Aisha Buhari was born in Adamawa state, Nigeria. She has five siblings: Zainab Umar Shinkafi, Musa Halilu Ahmed, Usman Halilu, Modi Halilu and Hameed Halilu. Her grandfather’s name is Alhaji Muhammadu Ribadu, and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Halilu.
In Adamawa State, Aisha Buhari attended both primary and secondary school. She also attended Ambrose Alli University (AAU), where she earned a degree in public administration. She then studied for a master’s degree in international affairs and strategic studies at the Nigerian National Defense Academy (NDA), Kaduna.
Aisha Buhari also holds a beauty therapy degree from the Carlton Institute of Beauty Therapy in Windsor, UK. She is an expert in microdermabrasion, mesotherapy and permanent makeup in Carlton.

She also holds a post-graduate diploma from the Esthetigue Cosmetology Institute of the French Academy in cosmetology and beauty. She is currently studying a co-dependency counseling course in the UK.
Career
The founder of Hanzy Spa and head of Hanzy Beauty Institute is Aisha Buhari. She has worked in the beauty industry for more than 15 years but recently had to take a break from work due to her official role. She also serves as an esthetics and beauty therapy resource for the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Aisha Buhari has been instrumental in creating a well-organized curriculum for NBTE. For example, the organization recommends reading the book Beauty Therapy Essentials: The Complete Guide for Beauty Professionals.
Aisha Buhari Foundation for Women
Aisha Buhari is an advocate for girls’ education and women’s rights. She is an outspoken opponent of child marriage before the age of 18, homosexuality and abuse of women.
As a result, she founded the Aisha Buhari Foundation, a group dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in Nigeria.
Aisha Buhari also started the Securing the Future Program through her charity. The Securing the Future Project aims to end the abuse, depression and hardship faced by mothers and children. In essence, it was founded with the purpose of advocating for policies to improve the lives and well-being of women and children.
Aisha Buhari has performed countless acts of kindness to support women through various channels. For example, she built the fully functional obstetric facility of Daura General Hospital. She sponsored many activities and medical treatments for children.
In 2017, she distributed meals in Katsina State and provided scholarships to about 60 orphans in Daura. She also empowered 2000 women in Adamawa State in 2019.
She also started the Green School Agriculture Initiative at Aliyu Mustafa College in Yola. Aisha Buhari’s upbringing in the northern region, where women were underrepresented in education, fueled her desire for women’s liberation.
