Many of the best Jason Statham movies have received sequels, leading to the development of acclaimed franchises. Into 2025 and beyond, Statham has several exciting potential projects that will continue his hot streak of major box office success, satisfying sequels, or even act as the inception point for brand new characters. Over the past 25 years, Statham has proved himself to be a true action hero, and looking at his upcoming project, he has no intention of slowing down.
5 Levon’s Trade (2025)
Jason Statham as Levon Cade
For his next action movie release, Jason Statham reunites with The Beekeeper director David Ayer for a thriller based on Chuck Dixon’s novel Levon’s Trade. With a screenplay from Sylvester Stallone, Levon’s Trade will be an opportunity to correct Statham and Stallone’s failed franchise starter, Homefront, which adapted the final book in a series. With more than ten books in Dixon’s book series, if Levon’s Trade turns out to be a success, there’s plenty more material to adapt.
Levon’s Trade will star Statham as Levon Cade, a former black ops agent who has retired to enjoy a peaceful life with his daughter. However, when someone in his life goes missing, Cade has no choice but to use his old set of skills once again and seek justice. Other performers among the cast of Levon’s Trade include Stranger Things star David Harbour, American Hustle’s Michael Peña, and Statham’s old Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Transporter 2 co-star Jason Flemyng.
Stallone was originally attached to adapt Levon’s Trade for television (via Deadline); however, this project later announced a film once Ayers and Statham’s involvement was revealed. Levon’s Trade wrapped filming in May 2024 (via The Knowledge) and is scheduled for release on January 17, 2025. As yet another exciting collaboration between Stallone and Statham, the release of Levon’s Trade will surely excite lovers of intense action movies.

4 Untitled Fast X Sequel (2026)
Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw
The upcoming 11th film in the main Fast & Furious franchise has been confirmed as the series’ final entry, with Vin Diesel referring to it as the “grand finale” (via Deadline) for his character Dominic Toretto. While this will signal the end of an era, plenty of other Fast & Furious spin-offs on the horizon could very well feature the appearance of Statham’s fan-favorite character, Deckard Shaw. While it’s not been officially confirmed that Shaw is in the Fast X sequel, since his character’s debut in Fast & Furious 6, he’s become an integral addition to the cast and will likely be involved.
While Deckhard Shaw was introduced as an antagonist in the Fast & Furious franchise, his role has changed throughout the series, and he even co-led the spin-off movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw opposite Dwayne Johnson. As a former UKSF military officer, assassin, and MI6 agent turned mercenary, Shaw added a sinister energy to the franchise and has become a consistent adversary and sometimes alley in the series. If the Fast X sequel continues its final showcase against Dante Reyes, it will be interesting to see where Shaw’s allegiances lay in the end.
The final Fast & Furious movie has been described as a throwback to the original 2001 film, with Diesel stating it will be a “back-to-backs” sequel that sees his character and the chosen family he’s a fostered take on “one last job” (via Comic Book.) Just how Statham’s Deckard Shaw will fit into all the action remains to be seen, but his likely appearance will surely add to this series’ incredible ensemble cast. While details are under wraps, it would be great to witness the unlikely duo of Deckard and Shaw team up once again.

3 Mutiny (TBC)
Jason Statham as Cole Reed
Jason Statham’s upcoming action thriller Mutiny sounds like a guaranteed win as he teams up with Peaky Blinders star Annabelle Wallis. This exciting release will feature Statham as Cole Reed, a man who has to go on the run to clear his name when he’s framed for the murder of his billionaire boss. With a classic race-against-the-clock action movie setup, Mutiny looks set to deliver plenty of thrills as Statham gives audiences his own take on the cat and mouse, hero versus villain movie trope seen in everything from North to Northwest to Taken.
Although Mutiny has no scheduled release date, it has a screenplay by Plane and The Contractor writer J.P. Davis and co-writer Lindsay Michel. With so many talented people involved, it’s sure to be an exciting release. Statham is starring in Mutiny and is on board as a co-producer with his newly launched company, Punch Palace Productions. Directed by Jean-Francois Richet, who previously helmed Davis’s Plane, Mutiny was recently acquired by Sky Original Film for its UK distribution (via Variety.)
While details about Wallis’ role have yet to be revealed, it is known that she will be playing the female lead opposite Statham. Wallis previously played Grace Shelby in Peaky Blinders, and whether she’s playing a friend, foe, alley, or adversary, she will surely have some great back-and-forth with Statham. Mutiny began principal photography in UK locations in September 2024 and will be yet another exciting addition to Statham’s impressive filmography.

2 Meg 3 (TBC)
Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor
With the release of Meg 2: The Trench in 2023, this underwater sci-fi Jason Statham series proved its franchise potential as this sequel to 2018’s The Meg took in nearly $400 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo.) Although Meg 3 has not been officially announced, director Ben Wheatley has voiced his desire to make a third installment and said its likelihood depends on how successful The Trench was (via Games Radar.) With audiences turning out in droves to watch Statham reprise his role as Jonas Taylor, the franchise will likely make a return.
Statham has now portrayed Taylor in two films where he utilized his skills as an expert diver with a passion for environmentalism to face off against the giant, once thought to be extinct, megalodon sharks. This sci-fi series has showcased the wonder of these gigantic prehistoric creatures as scientists were pursued in epic stories of survival and the search for knowledge. With impressive visuals and clear audience interests, although Meg 2 was slated by critics, this has not stopped it from becoming a major box office hit.
Wheatley stated that his plan for an upcoming Meg 3 would be to continue the story outlined in the original novels by Steve Alten. This would mean Meg 3 would likely adapt Alten’s novel Meg: Primal Waters, which continued Taylor’s adventures as he was hired to be a consultant for a reality TV show that became plagued by megalodons. With seven novels in The Meg book series already published, there’s a lot of gas left in the diving tank regarding this franchise’s untapped potential.
The Meg
The Meg franchise is a science fiction action-horror series centered around prehistoric sea creatures, particularly the massive Megalodon sharks. The films follow Jonas Taylor, a deep-sea rescue diver, as he battles these enormous predators that resurface from the depths of the ocean. Based on Steve Alten’s 1997 novel Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror, the franchise blends high-stakes action with thrilling encounters between humanity and these ancient creatures.

1 The Beekeeper Sequel (TBC)
Jason Statham as Adam Clay
While it’s true a sequel to Jason Statham’s recent hit The Beekeeper has yet to be announced, the buzz around it is palpable, and it seems inevitable that Adam Clay will make a return. With Statham already set to reunite with The Beekeeper director David Ayer for his upcoming film Levon’s Trade, having the pair team up once again for a sequel to The Beekeeper is a real possibility. Ayer hinted that he’s interested in further installments: “We cracked the door a little bit into the Beekeeper world, and I would love to learn more about them” (via Inverse.)
While action movie lovers have eagerly awaited an announcement that Statham will return for The Beekeeper 2, concrete information on the project has been sparse. However, Ayers reiterated that he’d like to be involved in a follow-up during a January 2024 interview with Yahoo, where he stated he was “fascinated by the mythology of the beekeepers” and that “it’s another opportunity to work with Jason.” This is an exciting prospect, as it could signal the early days of a long and fruitful creative collaboration between Ayers and Statham.
The Beekeeper was a huge hit for Statham, earning over $150 million at the box office against its $40 million budget (via Box Office Mojo.) With plenty of incredible over-the-top action scenes in The Beekeeper, audiences will be excited to see Jason Statham return as Clay sets more traps and catapults his enemies off bridges once again. As a fun-filled, action-packed, potentially major franchise, The Beekeeper has left viewers swarming for more and in need of a sequel.
