Known for her aggressive play and strong forehand, she is considered one of the best in the game.

In 2012, Ivanovic reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinals since 2008 at the US Open and finished the year ranked in the top 15. She made a remarkable comeback in 2014, winning four titles, including the Auckland and Monterrey Opens, and finished the year ranked No. 5 in the world.
In 2015, Ivanovic reached the semifinals of the French Open, her first major semifinal in seven years. She announced her retirement in December 2016, citing the inability to maintain high performance and win major tournaments. A ceremony honoring her was held at the 2017 French Open.
Ivanovic has a long-term advertising contract with Adidas, starting in 2006. After retiring, she became an ambassador for the brand. She is also one of the youngest athletes to sign a lifetime contract with Adidas.
