Childhood life and education.

Anang Hermansyah was born on March 18, 1969 in Jember Regency, Indonesia. He was raised by his parents, Abdul Choliq Wijaya and Anissa Choliq, and grew up with a sibling, Moch. Agus Burhansyah. He is Muslim, and his ethnicity is unknown.

Anang attended SD Jember Kidul Elementary School in 1977, followed by SMP Negeri 1 Jember Junior High School in 1983. In 1986, he attended SMA Negeri 4 Surabaya High School.

During high school, Anang joined a band in Jember, East Java, but it wasn’t until he attended Bandung Islamic University that he got serious about music and joined Doel Sumbang’s studio.

Career

Anang Hermansyah Anang joined a band while in high school in Jember, East Java. However, his passion for music really took off when he joined Doel Sumbang’s recording studio while studying at the Islamic University of Bandung. He even recorded a song with Doel Sumbang, although it was never released.

Anang then joined the band Kidnap Katrina in Jakarta after getting to know Pay Siburian, a BIP guitarist who had played for Slank.

Through Pay, Anang joined the social group Gang Potlot and joined the group Kidnap Katrina, founded by Massto (Bimbim Slank’s sister) and Koko (Kaka Slank’s sister). With Kidnap Katrina, Anang released a self-titled album in 1993 with his famous hit “Biru”.

After leaving the band Kidnap Katrina, Anang Hermansyah had a successful solo career. He released several albums, including Letlah, Lepas and Melayang. In 2009, after his divorce from Krisdayanti, he released the album Separuh Jiwaku Pergi (Half of My Soul Go).

His duet with Syahrini, Jangan Memilih Aku (Don’t Choose Me), was a huge hit. He continued his success with Syahrini, releasing a second duet, Cinta Terakhir (The Last Love). In 2011, he ended his duet with Syahrini and began singing with Ashanty, whom he eventually married.
