She is the founder and executive director of the Open Disclosure Foundation (ODF), an organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence.

Early life
Andile Gaelesiwe was born on September 13, 1973.
She was born and raised in the Soweto region of South Africa. Her father is Philemon Mofokeng.
Unfortunately, she was raped and sexually assaulted as a child and the perpetrator was revealed to be her father. She has not had contact with him for many years. S

Education
Andile Gaelesiwe began and completed her primary and secondary education in Soweto, South Africa.
Around 2004, she joined YFM radio in Johannesburg and trained to become a radio presenter.
Career
Andile Gaelesiwe began her music career in the early 2003s, releasing several albums and signing with BMG Records. She joined the YFM radio station in Johannesburg, where she trained for a year before becoming a radio presenter.
Her interest in non-profits coupled with her love for humanity brought her to YFM to launch a division called YCARES. As director, she has addressed key South African issues in the areas of HIV/AIDS, youth development and entrepreneurship, education and sexual violence.
In 2001, Andile Gaelesiwe was working at YFm when she heard a young woman call and threaten suicide after being sexually assaulted. This incident was the catalyst for Andile to speak out about her own abuse in the hope of helping other young people seek treatment.
As a result, she was invited to host the documentary reality TV show Khumbul’ekhaya, as she fit the description of the values the show wanted to show its viewers, including the courage to communicate and the strength to resolve and overcome family problems. She also started a program called Coming Out so that victims of sexual assault could speak up and get help.
Her most recent hosting job was in 2019, when she was chosen to host a South African couples reality TV show called Before I Do, which helps South African couples deal with relationship challenges.
