Anjelah Johnson (born May 14, 1982), real name Anjelah Nicole Johnson-Reyes, is an American actress, comedian, television host and NFL cheerleader.
She has become a successful actress and comedian. She is best known for her work on MADtv, where she was a cast member from 2007 to 2009.
Anjelah Johnson has also starred in several other popular TV shows and films, including Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Enough Said, and The Book of Life. In addition to her on-screen success, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, while in college, became a member of the Oakland Raiderettes, an NFL cheerleading squad.
During this time, Anjelah Johnson developed her stand-up comedy routine. In 2007, she won first place in NBC’s Stand-Up for Diversity Competition. That same year, she debuted on MADtv as a series regular.

Early life
Angelah Johnson was born on May 14, 1982 in San Jose, California, United States. She is the daughter of a mother, Susie Zagar, who worked in the civil service, and a father who was a contractor.
She has shown interest in soccer, softball, and track since she was a child. She has two siblings, an older sister named Veronica Johnson and an older brother named Kenny Johnson.
Angelah Johnson participated in theater throughout middle and high school and enjoyed math competitions and playing the violin. After graduating from high school, she attended De Anza College to study speech communication.
Angelah Johnson also breaksdanced and hip-hop danced. She began acting as a senior in high school, and especially enjoyed imitating people’s voices.

Angelah Johnson married Manwell Reyes, a member of Group 1 Crew, in Half Moon Bay, California, on June 11, 2011.
Despite enjoying and spending time with her nieces and nephews, she revealed that she and her husband do not want to start a family of their own.

Career
After a friend suggested she take a comedy writing class, Angelah Johnson moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue a career in comedy. She began taking comedy classes and soon began hosting her own events. Her stand-up routine, which focused on imitating a Vietnamese nail salon worker, went viral on YouTube.
Angelah Johnson appeared as a notable participant on the sketch comedy show MADtv in 2007. Due to the ongoing writers’ strike, she was often only given a few lines in the script during her time there as the writers were under pressure to produce more scripts at a faster pace.
Her self-written character Bon Qui Qui, a fast food worker who treats customers cruelly, on the other hand, was well received and has a significant following on YouTube. Angelah Johnson was nominated for an ALMA Award in 2008 for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on MADtv.
Anjelah Johnson: That’s How We Do It, a one-hour Comedy Central special, was released in 2009. She also lent her voice to the live-action film adaptation of Marmaduke and appeared in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel and Our Family Wedding. She also appeared on George Lopez’s late-night talk show Lopez Tonight.
