Anne Wojcicki is the youngest child in the family. Her eldest daughter is Susan Wojcicki, who is currently the CEO of YouTube, and her second daughter, Janet Wojcicki, is an anthropologist and epidemiologist.

Her parents are Esther Wojcicki, an educator, of Jewish descent, and her father is Stanley Wojcicki, a Polish emeritus professor of physics at Stanford University.
The three sisters grew up on the Stanford campus. When Anne Wojcicki was fourteen, she learned to skate, and later, she began playing ice hockey.

Anne Wojcicki attended Gunn High School in Palo Alto, California, where she edited the school newspaper, The Oracle. She also won scholarships for some of the sports writing she did for The Oracle.
Anne Wojcicki then received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Yale University in 1996. While studying at Yale University, she played for the school’s women’s ice hockey team.
