Early life

Doris Hancox and Sterling Bowman gave birth to Anderson on August 15, 1970. Doris Hancox was his mother, a telephone operator and an actress known for The Truth (2010). His stepfather, Sterling Bowman, is a native of Arkansas who came to Los Angeles to work in the steel industry before founding a chain of three clothing stores. Anthony graduated from Hollywood High School, LACHSA and Howard University.
