As a child, Anthony Osemi participated in school plays. It was here that he developed a love for acting. This love would be rekindled whenever he watched movies on television and he promised himself that one day he would be on the big screen.
After moving to South Africa from the UK, he worked for a while in the corporate sector, including Lewisham Youth Theatre and the London International Theatre Festival, to earn money. He was also involved with Tricycle Theatre and the Phakama Project in Albany.
Gradually, he aspired to become an entertainer. He also played a role in the famous TV series “Amen Corner”, which was produced by James Baldwin.
While still glamorous and earning himself a fan base, he also starred in ITV’s 2003 TV series “Police Story” and the BBC’s medical drama “Holby City”, the latter in 2005.
Anthony Osemi took a huge step towards achieving his dream. He quit his job and got in touch with other filmmakers who invited him to audition for a movie he was about to shoot.
He then had a film role in the TV series Is Harry On The Boat?, where he worked closely with top artists and other creators. The latter even praised his contribution during the creative process.
Since then, he has appeared in many movies and TV series such as “Palindrome RSSR”, “Holly-Polly”, “Flood”, “The Philanthropist”, “Natalie Holloway”, “Long Street”, “Albert Schweitzer” and many more.

Apart from acting, he created the South African television show Tempy Pushas which aired on SABC 1. He then created the series Room 9, for which he was nominated for the 2014 South African Film and Television Awards, and starred in it.
