Even though fans came to Grande’s defense, this didn’t stop the conversation from growing. So much so that Grande has been spending time with Charli XCX’s kid Remix album Kid and It Are Completely Different But Still Kid to have the last word.

On the “Sympathy is a Knife” remix, Grande candidly addresses hate singing “It’s a knife when they dissect your body on the front page / It’s a knife when they don’t believe you, ’cause Why do you have to explain? / It’s a knife when mean fans hate nice fans / When someone says, “Ari, I think you’ve completely changed” / When someone says that they like the old me, not the new me / And I say, “Who the hell is she?”

This is not the first time the Oscar-winning singer has addressed online controversies about her art. The lead single from her most recent album “yes, and?” features the subtle line “Don’t comment on my body, don’t reply/What’s yours is yours and what’s mine is mine.”

She continued, “I know I don’t have to explain it but I think that maybe there’s some openness and some vulnerability here that would be— that something good could come from that , I don’t know. But that’s the first thing: Healthy can look different for everyone.”

Despite the concerns, Grande reassured fans that she is the healthiest and happiest she has ever been.
