Ariana Grande edits ‘Wicked’ Instagram account’s song lyrics sparking debate

Ariana Grande is clearing the air when it comes to appropriate lyrics for her song “Popular.”

On November 13, the film’s official Instagram account sinister uploaded a snippet of Grande’s version of the song “Popular.” The lyrics are then placed on the screen as Grande sings them.

However, according to Grande, there appears to be a glaring error in the lyrics. In the comments section of the Instagram post, Ariana spoke up and revealed that the word “poise” in the lyric video is actually “scheme.”

“It’s a ‘ploy’ !!!!!! i love you @wickedmovie 🥲🥹,” she wrote.

Although it’s unclear what the actual lyrics might be. Genius, the world’s largest collection of song lyrics, shared that the song’s actual lyrics are “poise” and not “scheme.”

However, Grande officially covered the song in 2012 with MIKA and according to TMZ, the official vocal and piano book supports what Grande said and lists the lyrics as “ploys”.
