Arthur Eze (born 27 November 1948) is a prominent Nigerian businessman, oil tycoon, philanthropist and politician.
He is an engineer specializing in chemical engineering and mechanical engineering.
He is the Chairman and CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum. He is widely known as Prince Arthur Eze and Ozoigbondu of Igboland.

Early life
Arthur Eze was born into the royal family of Ukpo Village, Dunukofia Local Government Area. He came into this world on the 27th of November, 1948. He belongs to the Ibo ethnic group and hails from the South Eastern part of the country. He is an indigene of Anambra State.
As a member of the royal family, he is a Prince. His elder brother is the current king – the traditional ruler – of Ukpo Village.
Arthur Eze spent his early years living in Ukpo Village, where he was taught the customs and traditions of his ancestors. His parents raised him with good morals, and he learned leadership and business skills from an early age.
Education
Arthur Eze attended primary school in public schools in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
He was then admitted to St. Augustin Secondary School in Nkwere, Imo State for his secondary education.
He graduated from this school as one of the top students, achieving a perfect score in the High School Graduation Exam.
Arthur Eze then moved to the United States to attend college. He earned two degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, in 1978.
Career
After graduating with his bachelor’s degree, Arthur Eze moved back to Nigeria to enter the corporate world. His academic performance at university led to a lucrative job in the oil industry. He worked as an employee for a few years before leaving to start his own company. This led to the establishment of Atlas Oranto Petroleum, a private exploration and production corporation.
Under his leadership, Prince Arthur Eze has built Atlas Oranto Oil into one of Africa’s largest oil exploration holdings. The company holds 22 oil and gas exploration licenses in 12 jurisdictions in Africa. Atlas Oranto Oil has oil and gas assets in Nigeria, Liberia, Gambia, and Equatorial Guinea. The oil company is headquartered in Abuja, while its technical base is in Lagos.
Atlas Oranto Oil is a private company with investors. However, the controlling stake is held by Prince Arthur Eze and his family. Other shareholders of the company participate in the management of the company’s business.
Arthur Eze was a shrewd businessman. He had ventured into other areas. He was involved in the aviation industry. He was the founder of the now defunct Triax Airlines, which received its operating license in 1992. The airline was headquartered in Enugu State and had three commercial aircraft that flew between cities. But by 2000, the airline had ceased operations.
Arthur Eze is also a respected politician and has been involved in Nigerian politics for decades now. He is considered one of the godfathers in the Anambra political space. He is known for sponsoring parties and donating to the campaign funds of candidates he believes in. He is one of the notable donors to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He is also credited as one of the founders of the All Progressives Alliance (APGA).
On 14 November 2011, Arthur Eze was awarded the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The award was in recognition of his humanitarian work and contribution to the development of the national economy.
Personal life
Arthur Eze is a family man. He is married to Mrs. Eze and has children. One of his sons, Onyeka Eze, is the founder and chairman of the Prince Osisioma Foundation. He owns valuable properties in various countries and has a fleet of luxury cars. He has a son and a daughter with a son named Olisa Eze.
He is a respected philanthropist and is known for helping the less fortunate in society and funding social causes.
In 2013, he donated US$12 million to build St. Stephen Anglican Church and Youth Development Center in Bayelsa State. He also donated N10 million to the elderly in his village.
Arthur Eze is one of the owners of Mansions and a car fleet in Nigeria.
