His mother, Anki Lidén, was a famous Swedish actress, and his father, Klas Bergling, was a businessman. He grew up with two older brothers, Anton Körberg, an actor, David Bergling, and a sister named Linda Sterner.

Avicii was in a relationship with Emily Goldberg, an American student, from 2011 to 2013. He then dated Racquel Natasha Bettencourt, a Canadian student and model, until late 2014.
At the time of his death, Avicii was dating Tereza Kacerova, a model, and they wanted to keep their relationship private.
