Larian Studios has released the latest update for Baldur’s Gate 3 (called Hotfix 15). This update brings various improvements and fixes to the popular Dungeons & Dragons RPG.
Some key changes include fixing a bug that caused character faces to become distorted, and fixing an issue with loading saved games when using mods. This update resolves a crash issue in multiplayer mode after the game ends.

Crashing and blocking
- Fixed potential crash during autosave after moving to another level.
- Fixed a multiplayer crash that could occur in the client when the console loaded a save game after the Game Over screen.
- Fixed a crash related to deleted physics objects.
- Fixed an issue where you would disarm an NPC twice in combat and have them drop two different weapons (e.g. because they were dual-wielding), incapacitate them and end the combat without killing them, and then eliminate A collapse that occurs when incapacitated.
- Fixed an issue that prevented save games launched with now-missing mods from loading.
- Fixed a crash that could occur on Xbox when losing internet connection while editing a lobby name.
- Fixed a potential crash on Xbox related to the game checking to see if you own the Deluxe Edition.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when switching to Honor Mode.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when changing levels.
Performance and code
- Fixed a potential performance issue at the end of the animation where Shadowheart kills Nightsong in Shadow Hell.
- Fixed an issue related to lava bubbles near the Grymforge Sentient Amulet causing save games to become very large.
- Fixed memory issue when closing containers on controller.
- Fixed an issue where the low model quality option would sometimes not work as expected.
- Fixed an issue that could cause certain special items (such as the Idol of Sylvanus) to enter an incorrect state when sorted into Traveler Chests.
- Reduce memory usage associated with animation skinning.
multiplayer game
- Fixed an issue where Traveler Chests would sometimes disappear when switching into or out of Honor Mode in multiplayer settings.
- Fixed a multiplayer issue where if the host controls a companion and a split-screen client joins the game, the client will gain control of the host’s avatar.
- Fixed a multiplayer issue where reconnected players were not assigned roles correctly.
- Fixed an issue where Player 2 would not be able to prepare spells if Player 1 moved focus during split-screen play.
Process and gameplay
- Fixed an issue where you were unable to talk to NPCs in the camp when you went to the camp via the sleep button.
- Fixed some incorrect character behavior that might have been introduced in Patch 4.
- The “Deal with the Devil” quest now has different consequences explained in the epilogue.
- Karak should now see her scene in Avernus, whether she is an avatar or a companion.
- Fixed an issue where companions were unable to jump while following the player character.
- Fixed an issue where ending the tutorial with only Raizel alive would prevent you from saving your game in Act One.
- Fixed an issue where Gale’s dialogue ended abruptly when you asked him what he wanted to show.
- Fixed an issue where player factions would sometimes become hostile to each other when they shouldn’t.
- Fixed an issue where Create or Destroy Water could only be cast at level 2.
Other fixes
- The Korean language pack is now enabled on Mac.
- Fixed some weapon textures.
- Fixed several cases of what we’re calling the Pinocchio issue, where the character’s nose (and cheeks) were stretched during cutscenes. They also happened to lose their eyeballs, and their sockets turned into pits of flesh.
- Fixed an issue where device tooltips opened via inventory would sometimes randomly close controllers without player input.
