Isaac Sotunde, better known as Base One, is a 32-year-old talented Nigerian rapper and songwriter.

Born and raised in the Oshodi area of Lagos, the Aquila Records artist is known for his creative street hip-hop style lyrics and music beats.
Education
Base One was born on March 24, 1992 and completed his primary education at St. George Nursery and Primary School, Ipaja, Lagos and his secondary education at Medal Merit High School, Igando, Lagos.
Base One later matriculated at the Lagos State University (LASU), where he began his music career. Base One graduated from the prestigious institution in 2012 with a degree in Banking and Finance.
Music career
Base One started his music career when he was still a student at Lagos State University and participated in various competitions. He met X Blaze, a talented producer who brought out the best in him and he is said to be the one who nurtured and developed Base One’s talent.
Prior to graduation, Base One had already established himself as one of the best underground artists with multiple hit songs as an independent artist, which also brought him many features.
Since leaving school, Base One has become a household name and in 2012 he appeared on the Olamide YBNL album which became a major breakthrough in his music career.
In December 2014, Olamide invited him to the stage for a concert titled “Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC)”, which caught the attention of the respected owner of Aquila Records, Shina Peller, who signed him in 2015.

In 2015, Base One released a single called “Werey Re O” produced by X Blaze under Aquila Records. The song quickly became popular on the streets due to its incorporation of various street slangs and was widely loved. Due to the success of this song, X Blaze was nominated for “Best Newcomer of the Year” at the Headies Awards.
In 2016, he collaborated with local rap heavyweights Olamide and Phyno to produce a remix of “Werey Re O.” Base One has collaborated with K1 De Ultimate and Kayswitch.
