Belinda Lee (born 15 June 1935) is a famous English actress who rose to fame in the 1950s for her performance in the medical drama The Female Contact, which premiered in 1956.

Early life and education
Belinda Lee was born on June 15, 1935 in Burleigh Salterton, Devon, England. Her father was Robert Esmond Lee, a former British Army captain, and her mother was Stella Mary Graham, a florist.
Her father was a publican and owner of the Rosemullion Hotel. She was educated at St Margaret’s School, a boarding school in Exeter, Devon. She later attended the Tudor School of Art in Surrey.
Belinda Lee was considered a “spoiled only child” who wanted to be an actress from the age of nine. After perseverance, she joined the Nottingham Playhouse Repertory Theatre for a year and then won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in Bloomsbury, London.

While on the set of the movie, Lee Belinda visited her married boyfriend, Prince Orsini, in Italy. According to Italian tabloids, Lee Belinda took an overdose of sleeping pills while visiting her boyfriend.
On the other hand, it was reported that Prince Orsini was hospitalized three days after cutting his wrists with a sharp object. Prince Orsini’s injuries were minor and he refused to explain to the police why he cut his wrists. Belinda Lee claimed that she suffered from insomnia and accidentally took an overdose of drugs.
The Vatican said that if it was proven that Prince Orsini had attempted suicide, he would lose his papal title, and in fact, the elderly Pope Pius XII did strip Prince Orsini and the Orsini family from the hereditary papal throne.
The pope also gave a speech condemning suicide, which was interpreted as a reference to the Orsini-Lee scandal, although neither was named.
Belinda Lee married Cornell Lucas (1954-1959).

While Belinda Lee was studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, Val Guest was looking for a woman to play a supporting comedic role in Runaway Bus. She had seen Belinda’s performance in Lady Windermere’s Fan and recommended her for the project.
According to The New York Times, Belinda Lee was the “77th” girl to audition for the role, and her casting was announced in September 1953. She played a dumb blonde, and later said, “I was dumb, too—I didn’t know where the camera was half the time.”
As 1957 drew to a close, Lee Belinda traveled to Italy to prepare for her role as a model in the film The Ancient World of the Goddess of Love.

In March 1961, Belinda Lee was killed in a car accident on Highway 91, nine miles east of Baker, near San Bernardino, California, while traveling from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.
Belinda Lee was found dead 63 feet (19 meters) from the scene of the accident when a tire blew and the car skidded.
