Kate Chastain, Below Deck The former student welcomed a baby boy, her first child, in May 2023 and fans couldn’t be happier. Proud to be a first-time mom, 39-year-old Kate didn’t waste any time in showing the world a photo of her newborn, Sullivan Cay, who appeared to be smiling for the camera.

Below Deck: Who Are Kate Chastain’s Parents?
Kate Chastain has been grabbing the attention of everyone around her since joining Below Deck in its second season in August 2014. She was a main character on the series for six seasons before retiring in February 2020. She later went on to serve as executive producer and host of Bravo’s Chat roomis a regular on the network’s series Below Deck Galley Talk. She was also later a contestant on Peacock’s reality TV competition, The Traitors.
So it’s natural that Kate’s growing fan base over the years has always wanted to know about her parents.
Meet Tim Chastain, Kate Chastain’s father
Kate Chastain’s father, Herman Timothy Chastain, was also known simply as Tim Chastain. He died in April 2023, days before he would have turned 68 on April 26.
Kate really loves her dad and so does he. In his social media posts, Kate’s dad constantly brags about how proud he is of his “grown up” “Baby Katie”. He always teases her about how fast she’s growing up. The patriarch has always been his daughter’s number one cheerleader. Back in December 2016, we saw him promoting her first book “Lucky CHARMING”.

Speaking of his career, the late Tim was the owner of Chastain Pier and owner/guide at Fin Expedition. Additionally, he previously had a job at NASA. Kennedy Space CenterIn a 2013 local newspaper article, Tim was described as a hotel magnate, a city commissioner, a NASA scientist, an entrepreneur, and a coastal engineer.

After his death, many of his friends remembered him in their own ways. One in particular described him as a fun-loving, private, compassionate, and eccentric man. They also shared that his mother was not only loving (unlike his stepfather), but also died at a young age, leaving her young sons to deal with the loss.
Tim also has a brother, Stephen Chastain, and a sister-in-law, Dee Shaffer Chastain, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Meet Gina Chastain, Kate Chastain’s Mother
At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Gina (Mariani) Chastin is Kate Chastain’s biological mother. Because Kate only follows Tim on her Facebook, not Gina.
Gina turns 63 in April 2023. According to her Facebook, she worked at Advantec College and studied Nursing at the University of Phoenix (Class of 2009) and Brevard Community College (Class of 1996). She even attended Cocoa Beach High School before that.
