Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s lavish Beverly Hills mansion, currently on the market for $68 million, could cost the couple as much as $25 million, according to a real estate investor. The expert claims the five-acre, 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom estate is overpriced, poorly located and too large, making it difficult to sell.
The modern home was listed for sale in July but has yet to find a buyer. The multi-story home features an infinity pool, gym, boxing ring, a 12-car garage, and parking for 80 cars. The source also noted that the property has been on the market for years since it was first built, with a $100 million asking price and millions of dollars in renovations to Affleck and Lopez’s taste.
The home, built in 2001, is a “mix of styles with a faux French roof” and is considered aesthetically unappealing. The property developer told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich that the property is “a giant white elephant” with “just silly and unnecessary” amenities, such as an indoor sports complex.

Astronomical tax bills and maintenance costs
The buyer paid a steep purchase price and faced a whopping $762,000 annual tax bill, plus $750,000 in insurance and maintenance. The total annual cost of maintaining the lights came to at least $1.5 million.
Insiders liken the property to a “large, flawed diamond,” suggesting that potential buyers who can afford it would rather spend $10 million on a smaller, flawless diamond than $5 million on a larger diamond with obvious flaws. With California estate taxes and brokerage fees, Affleck and Lopez will also lose at least 10 percent of the proceeds from the sale, which they will have to split.
Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Moved Out of Beverly Hills Mansion
A U-Haul truck was recently parked outside their sprawling Beverly Hills mansion, marking a major development in the couple’s ongoing divorce proceedings.
Sources confirm that Lopez, who has grown increasingly uncomfortable in the massive estate, is moving out. The mansion, originally purchased for their blended family, has become too big and too emotional for the singer, according to an insider who spoke to People.
Lopez has been looking for a new home since May but has yet to find the right place to call her home. As she continued her search, Affleck made his move, closing the deal on a $20.5 million Brentwood mansion on July 24, which also happened to be Lopez’s 55th birthday.
