Early life
Berla Mundi was born to the Addardeys in Ghana. She was born in a private hospital on April 1, 1988.
Her parents gave her the first name Berlinda. While the nickname Berla was given to her by close friends.
She grew up in a Catholic family and spent her formative years in Accra.
Being a very curious and outspoken woman since childhood, she always aspired to be a TV presenter. She admired the famous presenters she watched growing up and dreamed of becoming like them. Her love for the screen led her to pursue a career in Journalism.
Education
Berla Mundi attended secondary school at St. Theresa’s School and Achimota School.
She holds a degree in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Ghana. She is an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
A passionate educator, she studied French at Alliance Francais.
Career
In 2010, Berla Mundi participated in the Miss Malaika beauty pageant and won second runner-up.
She then joined GHOne TV as one of the station’s staff. After working with the station for a few years, she resigned and secured another job with TV3 Ghana.
Over the past decade, she has hosted a number of television and reality shows. Notable examples include Moments With Mo, which aired on DStv; The Late Afternoon Show on GHOne; Glitterati; Rhythmz Live.
Currently, she is the host of Covid-19 360, New Day – Morning Show and The Day show.
Along with Kwame Sefa Kayi, she hosted the 20th VGMA.
Berla is also a humanitarian. In 2015, she founded an NGO called the Berla Mundi Foundation. She also founded a mentoring and career guidance project for young women in 2018.
