Granblue Fantasy: Relink has had an interesting development journey. The game was originally named Granblue Fantasy Project Re:Link in August 2016 and is the result of a collaboration between PlatinumGames and Cygames. As announced by Sony at the Tokyo Game Show in September 2016, the game, created by renowned artists including composers Nobuo Uematsu and Tsutomu Narita, and artist Hideo Minaba, will launch on PlayStation 4 in 2018.

Gameplay was first unveiled at GranBlue Fes 2017, showcasing exciting features such as four-player cooperative multiplayer and a single-player mode with three AI characters. In December 2018, the game was officially renamed “Granblue Fantasy: Relink”.

The game’s release faced delays and was originally planned for release in 2018, later rescheduled to 2022 and 2023, before finally releasing on February 1, 2024. A playable demo gave fans a taste of the highly anticipated action RPG ahead of its full release on January 11, 2024.
