Billboard named Beyoncé the “Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century”, a list that received mixed reactions from fans and celebrities alike during its creation. After this achievement, the diva was congratulated by her father, Mr. Mathew Knowles.
On December 4, Knowles posted a tweet to her official X account (formerly Twitter), reflecting on her childhood, passion for singing, and natural stage presence. by Beyoncé. Knowles noted that Beyoncé “grew up shy” but that she is a different person every time she sings.
“Beyoncé grew up very shy,” he shared. “However, as soon as she started singing, it was like another person appeared and we knew from a very young age that she was destined to pursue her passion for music.”
Knowles mentioned her daughter as an inspiration to others: “She has made everyone around her a believer with her determination, work ethic, stage presence and my talent.”

Following Beyoncé’s final ranking of “The Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century”, Billboard defended its choice after netizens voiced that Taylor Swift should be at the top due to sales, airplay and her current touring strength.
Billboard explained that Beyoncé was chosen because of her “influence, evolution and impact” over the past 25 years.
