Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), formerly known as PUBG Mobile India, is a version of the popular game PUBG Mobile designed specifically for Indian players. This tailor-made gameplay comes in the wake of controversy surrounding the data storage policy that applies to users in India. BGMI, developed and published by Krafton, is an online multiplayer battle royale game.

BGMI 2.7 updated features: New A1 Royal Pass
The upcoming BGMI 2.7 update patch notes introduce the ACE32 gun, which has the same attachments as the AKM.
Some players have suggested that this new firearm could serve as a replacement for the original AKM in the game, as their attributes match up very well. However, SNAX clarified that despite the significant similarities between the two guns, the ACE32 will not easily replace the OG AKM.
BGMI gameplay
Battlegrounds Mobile India, abbreviated as BGMI, is an exciting third-person and first-person survival shooter that allows up to 100 players to participate in an intense battle royale. This dynamic game mode involves competing to be the last player or team standing. Participants can compete individually or in groups of up to four people.
The game starts with the player parachuting from a plane onto one of seven different maps:
- Erangel (Theme/Normal)
- Miramar
- Vikendi
- Livik (theme/normal)
- Karakin
- Thornhawk
- Noosa (new)
With each new turn, the plane’s flight path changes, prompting players to quickly decide the ideal moment to jump and glide to the ground. Players start the game without any equipment, except for customizable clothing options that do not affect gameplay. Once grounded, participants scour buildings, abandoned towns, and various locations for weapons, vehicles, armor, and other necessities. These items are randomly distributed across the map, with riskier areas often containing high-level gear. Fallen players may also have their belongings stolen. Players can choose between a first-person or third-person perspective, each with unique strengths and weaknesses in combat and situational awareness.
The playable area of the map will periodically shrink towards random destinations. Players trapped outside the safe area will take progressive damage and will eventually face elimination if they fail to reach the safe area in time. Shrinking areas are represented in-game by flashing blue walls that gradually shrink. This design results in a narrower playing area, increasing the likelihood of encounters between players. Certain areas on the map are randomly marked in red and are subject to aerial bombardment during the game, posing a danger to those who linger.
Players will receive advance notice before these events occur, giving them the opportunity to relocate to a safe location. An aircraft will periodically fly across different parts of the map, or players can deploy a flare gun to summon it, releasing a loot pack containing items not normally available during regular gameplay. These packages emit a distinct red or yellow smoke that attracts interested players and often leads to additional confrontations.A full round of BGMI usually lasts about 30 minutes
