Billie Eilish doesn’t want to be emotionally vulnerable: ‘I have power and control issues’

Billie Eilish opened up about herself and her feelings when falling in love with Lana Del Rey in a conversation with Interview magazine.

Speaking about her new song “CHIHIRO,” Del Rey asked the Oscar winner whether it was “more dangerous” whether Eilish loved her or her loved her.

Surprised by Del Rey’s question, Eilish hesitated for a moment before confessing that it was “50-50” for her.

Eilish admitted: “I really hate who I am when I’m in love. “I really don’t like being – I was going to say out of control, but there are ways I like to be out of control. I have power issues and control issues, and I also don’t like being vulnerable in romantically.”

Del Rey peppered her with further questions, even asking her if she might be “hurt” since she looked so good at hiding it on the outside.

“I’d rather suffer in silence than tell you something that’s bothering me and make you think I’m sensitive,” Eilish admitted. According to her, she may appear to be a “disinterested” person, but in reality it’s the opposite.

“I care about people, I have love and passion, but in relationships I find myself never expressing any of my needs,” “What was I created for?” the singer added. “It’s interesting to realize I’m doing that and that’s what these lyrics are about. It’s almost like I’m frustrated with myself for not standing up for myself, because maybe if I did So, everything has changed. But I’ve always had a problem with weakness.”

Eilish is released KICK ME HARD AND SOFT in May 2024, debuting at number 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Many have speculated that the album was written to document her pain and suffering following her breakup with The Neighborhood frontman Jesse Rutherford.

However, Eilish made it clear that she is not on bad terms with Rutherford.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish confirmed that she is on good terms with her ex-boyfriend, Rutherford.

“That’s my guy, actually one of my favorite people in the world,” she revealed. “I plan to never date again,” she quipped before retracting it. “Obviously that’s not true. But no, I don’t see myself getting serious with anyone until I find someone who really feels right for me and that’s not interesting to me right now.”

But then again, Page Six reported that Eilish and Rutherford had “amicably split,” so their friendship thus far isn’t surprising.
