Black Sherif was born to Mr. Frimpong and Ms. Ante Marie on January 9, 2002. He is from the Ashanti region of Ghana and grew up in the town of Konongo.

A few days after he was born, his parents named him Mohammed Ismail Sharif Kweku Frimpong. The Frimpongs were a Muslim family, and Sharif also believed in the same religion.
