educate
Bo Burnham graduated from St. John’s Preparatory School, a Catholic boys’ school in Danvers, Massachusetts, where he was a top student and participated in drama and campus ministry programs.
Although he was later accepted to study experimental theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, he deferred his enrollment for a year in order to pursue a career in comedy.
Profession
Bo Burnham’s career essentially began in 2006 when he made a video of himself singing two songs and posted it on YouTube to share with his family. However, the videos made their way from his family to the public and quickly became popular on YouTube, break.com, and other websites.
As his target audience grew, Burnham began to perform on guitar or digital piano and released songs and films online that he called “adolescent musical comedies.” Described by the Boston Globe as “wholesome and disturbing, intimate in a folksy, macabre way,” Burnham wrote and released songs on topics such as white supremacy, Helen Keller’s disability, and homosexuality.
All of the videos Burnham releases at home were recorded in and around his home in Hamilton, Massachusetts, mostly in his bedroom, and were intentionally “taken on by himself,” almost like a Peeping Tom.
In January 2008 (aired on June 30), Bo Burnham taped an ensemble performance in London for Comedy Central’s Stand Up The World, becoming the youngest character to ever appear on the show at the age of 18, and signed a four-album contract with Comedy Central Records.
On June 17, 2008, Comedy Central Records released Burnham’s debut EP, the six-song Bo fo Sho, an online-only album. His first full-length album, the self-titled Bo Burnham, was released on March 10, 2009.
In 2013, he wrote the book Nerds: Or You Can’t Survive on Ideas Alone. Bo Burnham’s Inside (a new comedy-drama released on May 30, 2021) recently landed on Netflix and has become a hot topic.

Even though there is a 12 year age gap between Bo and Lorene, with Lorene being older, the two don’t seem to mind it, despite what people think about it.
The two keep their relationship private and have not yet revealed their marriage news. Bo Burnham lives in Los Angeles with his partner.
