early life
Bobby Shmurda’s father is Jamaican and his mother is African-American.
His date of birth is August 4, 1994. He was born in Miami and spent his early years in the city.
When Bobby Shmurda was a child, his father was convicted and imprisoned, prompting his mother to move the family to New York City, where they settled in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
As a teenager, he frequently clashed with officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD), a situation that continued into his twenties.

Bobby Shmurda’s debut single was a cover of Crime Mob’s “Knuck If You Buck.” It wasn’t until his 2014 hit “Hot Nigga” that he gained international recognition.

Bobby Shmurda, 26, is a former convict who was released on parole from Clinton Correctional Institution in February 2021 after being sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016.
He was convicted of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession in 2016. He was also convicted in 2017 of sneaking a knife into jail.
He is a close friend of rapper Quavo.
