Early life
James Bradley Johnson was born on September 13, 1968, in Marietta, Georgia. Johnson attended Charles D. Owen High School and was an All-American and All-state football and basketball player.
Johnson attended Florida State University in 1987, where he was a member of the Seminoles men’s basketball team. He won the 1990 Fiesta Bowl and the 1992 Cotton Bowl Classic as quarterback.
Professional career
Johnson was selected in the ninth round of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 1992 to 1998. He was on the losing team in Super Bowl XXXVII against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Johnson signed a two-year contract with the Washington Redskins in 1999. From 2001 to 2004, he played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won Super Bowl XXXVII. After the Buccaneers released him, he joined the Cowboys.
Before being released and signing with the Jets, he spent two seasons with the Cowboys. However, after one season with the Jets, he was released and signed with the Texans.
