Break up in a small town
[Verse 1]I know I’ll see her around and I’ll be at some party and she’ll show up and I’ll be walking out or walking through some parking lot hiding behind her sister and I’ll look up and she’ll be red next to me That white Maxima with the sticker on the back at the light I’ll act like I don’t see her We’ll pay at the same gas stations Going through the same stations and slowing down The same corners running with the same crowds We just need some time She can live with her and I’ll go on with my life thinking I’ll be fine hehe but maybe not I know she’ll find a way to get over me but I never thought…
[Chorus]She would be with someone I knew I guess that’s how it goes when you break up in a small town I saw our friends they put on a show like they didn’t want me to know so they gave me a fix but the streets only So many, so many lights I swear like I can’t even leave my house I should have always known you had to move or move on When you break up in a small town
[Verse 2]For a while I guess they kept a low profile but now it’s like these county lines are closing in on me I see them together everywhere and it’s so close to home she’s gone so far but she’s not gone too far she’s Beyond me Before grass grew where she once parked, she left the same mark in someone else’s yard, in someone else’s arms on the side of the road, I never thought…
[Bridge]Her mailbox is seven minutes away from mine Sometimes I drive into town and I see you and him sitting there and I want to jump out and I want to fight and I want to say, “…that guy!” But I can’t…it’s me It was my fault that I let her go…I never thought…
[Chorus]She would be with someone I knew I guess that’s how it goes when you break up in a small town I saw our friends and they put on a show they didn’t want me to know so they gave me a chance but there are only so many streets , so many lights I swear it’s like I can’t even leave my house I should have always known you had to move or move on when you break up in a small town
