Britney Spears shocked fans when she candidly shared a “dangerous” experience she encountered in her home that almost burned her face.
In a video update she shared on Instagram on Monday, the Pop Princess detailed the fire accident she had earlier this year while trying to use her fireplace.
“I was in my room turning on the lighter when suddenly it blew in my face. The previous times I did that, I gave up so I always asked the security guard to light the fire for me because I was afraid it would explode,” the 42-year-old pop singer said while seemingly speaking with a British accent.
Spears went on to say that six months ago, she was thinking about lighting the fireplace herself. But when she did, “it actually blew in my face and took off all my eyelashes and eyebrows” as well as her “baby hair.”
According to the “Oops I Did It Again” hitmaker, she immediately feared she might have to run to the emergency room because she thought her “face was on fire” because “just touching it hurts.” Thankfully, her discomfort disappeared after taking three doses of Tylenol.
Spears did not provide photos of any injuries or specify when the incident occurred. She described the experience as “quite scary” but said she was fine.

“It was really bad, but now it’s all good. It happened,” she said at last, recalling the incident.
Many fans were shocked by this revelation and couldn’t help but worry about her after learning what happened.
“Poor Britney! So glad you’re okay! Take good care of yourself,” one fan commented on Pop Base’s tweet that had a copy of the video Spears shared on her Instagram but is no longer available on her account as of this writing.
“I’m so sorry to hear that, Britney. That must have been a difficult experience. … Sending so much love your way,” another fan wrote.
Another added: “You’re so brave to share this scary experience with us and we’re so relieved you’re okay!”
Others noticed her voice as she recounted the incident.
“It seems like after the fire, she went from speaking American (sic) to speaking with a British accent. Anyway, sorry for this ugly incident,” one comment read.
“Haha, I know this is supposed to be serious but why does she randomly have a British accent?” another person wrote.
