Michael Jnr Ekeinde (born 20 August 1998), better known by his stage name Captain E, is a 26-year-old fast-rising Nigerian recording artist, music producer and disc jockey (DJ).
He is the eldest son of Omotola Jolad Ekende, a famous actress in the Nigerian movie industry. He is also a songwriter.
He is best known for his hit single “More of Me”.

early life
Captain E was born on August 20, 1998, in a top private hospital in Lagos State, to the Ekende family. His father is Captain Matthew Ekende, a pilot, and his mother is Omotola Jolad Ekende, a famous actress and producer in the Nigerian movie industry.
He has three siblings – two older sisters and a younger brother. He is the eldest son and the second child in the family. His siblings’ names are Princess, Meriah and Michael Ekeinde.
He grew up in the city of Lagos but moved to the United States with his family before he reached his teens.

Captain E completed his primary education at a top private nursery and primary school in Lagos.
He graduated from high school in 2014.
After four and a half years of study, he received a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media Studies from a top university in the United States.

At the age of nine, Captain E developed an interest in music and began learning to play the piano. That was in 2007.
While attending high school in the United States, he learned to play other instruments such as saxophone, guitar, flute and violin. He discovered his love for music with the encouragement of his friend Abubakar Yusuff alias Enibeats.
He started making beats in high school and remixed many of the popular Afro-pop singles of the time.
After graduating from high school, he was invited to participate in the International Music Convention (IMC) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and although he was the youngest contestant in the competition, he won the title of third place producer.
In 2015, he released his first official single. The song was called “What Is The Matter” and he invited two other newcomers, Verchi and Nasiru, to sing on stage. In 2015, he also released another single called “Jekowale”. This time, he invited Seyi Shay to sing on stage. The song was produced by Enibeats.
In 2016, he started to become famous as a mixing and mastering engineer. This is because he has worked with top producer Del B.
Captain E was credited with remixing the song All The Loving, performed by General Pype, and featured Burna Boy and Phyno as guest artists.
He has also remixed songs for famous singers like Wizkid, Runtown, Mr Eazi, Harrysong and Eddy Kenzo.
In 2016, he released his much-anticipated EP Sounds Of Winter, a project that featured collaborations with artists such as Dexter, Ferdaousse, Trusting, M-AYO and Pamo.
In 2017, he released the hit single “Replay” in collaboration with M-AYO. His first DJ performance was at his university’s Spring Festival.
