Carson Lee Kressley was born on November 11, 1969 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Orefield, Pennsylvania, an unincorporated village where his family raised ponies. He began participating in equestrian sports at an early age.
In 1999, he became a member of the U.S. Saddle Seat World Cup equestrian team and won the world championship in 2009. He graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School in 1987 and attended Gettysburg College to earn his bachelor’s degree in 1991.
