Early life and education
Catherine Bell was born on August 14, 1968 in London to Scottish father Peter Bell and Iranian mother Mina Ezzati.
Her father was an architect who worked for an oil company in Iran, and her mother had to move to London to study nursing. Bell’s parents divorced when she was two years old.
Yos moved in with her mother and was raised by her grandparents.
They later moved to the San Fernando Valley, California. Although of Muslim background, Catherine Bell was exposed to Catholicism while attending a Baptist school.
Catherine Bell attended UCLA to study medicine/biology but dropped out to pursue a modeling career in Japan.
