Meet Cathy Pagliaro, The Bachelorette Star Joey Graziadei Mom
Joey Graziadei, a fan favorite from Charity Lawson’s Bachelorette, has been nominated as the lead actor of season 28 of The Bachelor. He is the son of Cathy Pagliaro.
Joey is expected to come out in 2024, Jesse Palmer announced on Monday’s Bachelorette finale. For Joey, the honor is “surreal.” “It’s really slowly sinking in, but I’m trying my best to be present and enjoy it, but this is crazy,” Joey said. “I mean, I’ll be the first to say this is crazy. I never expected this, never knew this was what my life was headed toward at this point. Yeah, it’s crazy, but I’m excited.”
Jesse asked Joey if he was ready for love after his split from Lawson. “I was more ready than I was then,” Graziadei said. “For me, it’s just, you have to give it time to get a little more closure. For me, watching Dotun and Charity’s relationship was enough.”
Joey said the breakup finally “unlocked a part of me that was craving something so badly”.
He went on to tell Jesse about what he wants in a future partner: “Someone who is just themselves that I can really be a partner with. I want someone who can challenge me. I want someone who I can challenge. I just want someone to live with. I just want someone who will be mine.”

Cathy Pagliaro’s work
Cathy Pagliaro worked for Macy’s from 1980 to 1992. She joined Bloomingdale’s as retail manager two years later. She also served as general manager of the Boca Raton Bloomingdale’s.
In 1998, Cathy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. “You have anger, you have denial, and you have the question of ‘Why me?’,” she told the Sun Sentinel. “Eventually, you get to a point of acceptance.”
She was also honored by the MS Society as Woman of the Year for her time and effort in the organization’s fundraising efforts to combat the disease.
Cathy discovered that the numbness in her arms was a sign that something terrible was happening to her body in September 1998. She had no intention of seeing a doctor that day. But her coworkers persisted. This was the second year her company had supported the National MS Society of South Florida with a fashion show, and the luncheon and fashion show were nine weeks away.
The lunch also marked the first time Cathy told a group of strangers that she had a disease that could, at worst, paralyze her or cause her nervous system to shut down completely. “There wasn’t a single person in the house who wasn’t in tears when she talked,” said Carrie Schulman, a volunteer with the MS Society. “You don’t know what’s going to happen, that’s the scary thing about it,” Cathy said. “I don’t know where in my body it’s going to hit. I don’t know.”
Cathy’s body currently shows no obvious symptoms of the disease, and may not for many years. Cathy has no time to cry. She decided at the beginning of this year that she had no time for work. The former CEO’s life priorities have changed, and she now spends most of her time with her children.
Cathy and her ex-husband Nick had planned to bring the whole family to that year’s luncheon on Tuesday afternoon at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. With her ex-husband, children and parents looking on, Cathy accepted the association’s Woman of the Year award.
