Early life and career
Kingsley Okorie and Benjamin James Okorie were born in the city of Lagos in the early 1990s.
The brothers discovered their love for music at a young age while attending church. They are from southeastern Nigeria.
Benjamin became interested in drums and taught himself how to play the instrument, while Kingsley learned how to play keyboards and bass.
Growing up, they listened to a lot of music. Their mother played mostly gospel songs, while their father liked to listen to bands like Michael Jackson, Westlife, ABBA, etc.

But they thanked the driver for giving them a taste of high society because he always played the songs of Oliver de Kock. That’s where their love for high society began.
Kingsley is the eldest of the siblings. Kingsley studied law in Kano State while Benjamin attended a music school.
After finishing their studies, the brothers officially formed a band in 2018. This had always been their dream. They call their genre Highlife Fusion, a blend of African beats, jazz, highlife and soul.
Over the years, these artistes have collaborated with top musicians like Lady Donli, Bez, Asa, Onyeka Onwenu and many more.

The duo is credited with producing Lady Donli’s debut album, Enjoy your Life, released in 2019.
In 2020, their debut album, Roots, was released to critical acclaim. The album has 482.2k streams on Spotify and has been streamed in over 91 countries.
Their song “Anita” was nominated for Best Alternative Song at the 14th Headies Music Awards.
