Celine Dion can’t stop watching Kelly Clarkson cover her iconic song, “My Heart Will Go On.”
In a video posted to her Instagram account on October 8, Dion was moved to tears by Clarkson’s cover.
“When I returned from the Olympics, I got to watch and listen to your reaction to my performance on the Eiffel Tower. It was so sweet to hear you speak,” Dion began.
“Your voice cracked and it touched me so much. You were crying and that made me start crying. Now, I just saw you sing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and I’m crying again. You’re so beautiful Great. I love it so much. I hope we can meet soon.”
Clarkson performed the song during her signature “Kellyoke” segment on the talk show on September 27. During her performance, Clarkson left the entire audience mesmerized and goosebumps because Her precise voice.
Clarkson spoke about her hesitation in covering the song The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“Normally, I would never cover that song,” she said. There are some songs that you don’t want to come close to as a singer.”
“My Heart Will Go On” has become synonymous with Dion’s name and is considered one of the greatest love songs ever written. It went on to win four Grammy Awards and an Oscar after being featured in James Cameron’s film the Titanic. The song was also included on Dion’s album, Let’s talk about lovewhich contained other hits such as “Tell Him” and “Immortality”.
In a 2024 interview with fashion magazineDion shared that Cameron was initially hesitant about featuring a pop ballad on the album the Titanic. However, after Dion recorded the song, Cameron was sold on including it in the film.
