Chart battle: Usher vs. Beyoncé and Kanye after the Super Bowl

Highly anticipated for his Super Bowl halftime performance, Usher took the stage to deliver a beautiful performance of some of his greatest hits. However, despite the usual expectations of a significant increase in sales after such a prominent achievement, Usher faces stiff competition from new releases from Beyoncé and Kanye West.

Immediately following Usher’s performance, Beyoncé surprised fans by dropping two new country songs from her upcoming album, Act II of “Renaissance.” Within minutes, these tracks shot to the top two spots on the US iTunes chart, eclipsing the hit “Yes!”, landing in 3rd place.

Adding to the competition, Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign released their joint album, Vulture 1, on Friday, dominated the Apple Music chart with about half of the top 30 songs. Their racetrack Carnival quickly took the number 1 spot, further challenging Usher’s chart presence.

While Usher’s Yes! and other tracks have managed to gain positions on various charts, including Apple Music and Spotify, but they face stiff competition from other tracks Vulture 1has earned all but two of the top 10 spots on the US Spotify chart.

Plus, Usher’s new album Go homereleased on the same day as Vulture 1falling behind on the Apple Music album chart.

Despite the stiff competition, Usher delivered a stellar performance during the halftime show, which featured guest appearances from Alicia Keys, will.i.am, Lil Jon, Ludacris and H.E.R. However, the question remains whether his Super Bowl boost can surpass new releases from Beyoncé and Kanye West on the chart.

The Super Bowl halftime show has historically provided an important platform for artists to increase their sales and airplay, with former performers experiencing significant increases on song sales and streams following their performances. Whether Usher can repeat this success amid fierce competition remains to be seen.

With Beyoncé introducing new music and Kanye West dominating the charts, Usher faces an uphill battle to maintain a chart presence following his Super Bowl performance. Fans will be eagerly watching how Usher’s sales and streaming numbers fare in the coming days amid this musical rivalry.
