Nigerian politician and PDP supporter, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was born on 19 June 1963. He currently represents Okpe State Constituency and is the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.

Early life
Chief Oborevwori was born on June 19, 1963 to Chief Samuel and Mrs. Esther Oborevwori in Osubi, Delta State.
He attended Oghareki Grammar School after receiving his early education at Alegbo Primary School.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from the prestigious Ambrose Ali University in Ekpoma in 2004.
In 2010, Delta State University in Abraka awarded him a master’s degree in political science. Oborevwori is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science’s Comprehensive Leadership Development Certificate Programme and the Alliance Manchester Business School’s Executive Certificate in Leadership Programme.
Career
Oborovwori was initially a member of Okpe ward before becoming the elected chairman of the ward. However, he rose to prominence in 2015 when he was selected to represent Okpe State Constituency (PDP) as a member of the Delta State House of Assembly.
After serving as an adviser for 19 years in various government positions, he was elected to the House of Representatives.
On May 11, 2017, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya was elected as the next Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly after the outgoing Speaker was impeached.

Oborevwori’s professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered). His other honorary affiliations (FICMC) include Chartered Management Consultant Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, Canada and Institute Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, Canada.
He received the Legislative Icon Award from the Nigerian National Association of State Students (NANS) on May 14, 2018, in recognition of his numerous educational initiatives and scholarship programmes in Delta State.

Chief Francis Oborevwori is now the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections after getting 597 votes in the party’s primary election in Delta State on Wednesday in Asaba.
Senator Oborevwori, Ifeanyi Okowa’s favoured candidate, defeated Olorogun David Edevbie, the choice of former governor James Ibori, who got 113 votes and came third.
According to Mr. Ndibusi Nwobu, chairman of the electoral commission, the police chief received 625 votes, making him the legitimate candidate of the party.
However, since former governors Ibori and Uduaghan did not contest the primaries, Okowa is clearly the party leader.
While Edevbie, dissatisfied with the voting results, fled before the polls closed, Oborevwori was overwhelmed with happiness as he hugged other candidates and delegates. Everyone applauded when he was announced the winner.
According to Mr Ndubusi Nwobu, the council chairman, Oborevwori received 597 votes, compared to 113 votes for Edevbie, 0 votes for Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, 6 votes for Chief Fred Majemite, 83 votes for Senator James Manager, 9 votes for Barr Peter Mrakpor, 9 votes for Deacon Kingsley Otuaro and 2 votes for Chief Ejaife Odebala.
Nwobu asserted that the primary results did not determine the outcome of this election. He said the election was free and fair.
The 824 delegates present at the Dome Center in Asaba for the accreditation process at around 11am were all happy and excited.
Thirteen of the fourteen acquitted candidates were present. Chief Kenneth Gbagi, a former education minister, withdrew from the contest earlier this week and failed to appear at the venue on Tuesday.
At 3:24 p.m., Aniocha North delegates cast their votes in alphabetical order. The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel were present to supervise the election.
Other candidates for governorship, including Mr Ejaife Odebala and Mr Fred Majemite, left the polling station without ceremony along with Deacon Kingsley Otuaro and Mr Braduce Angozi.
At 5:25, the election in Warri South West ended. The ballots were sorted and counted starting at 5:41 pm.
Scholarship Initiative
Mr Oborevwori was said to have presented 25 students from Okpe Local Government, both indigenes and non-indigenes, with support kits and scholarships worth six million naira on June 24, 2018.
In addition to providing financial support for education, the Oborevwori Foundation Scholarship Program also implements programs to support small traders, women street vendors, and craftsmen.
Donations to women working in the frozen food industry include:
- Twenty four buses or cars.
- Ten tricycles.
- Twenty sets of hair salon products with generators.
- Forty milling equipment.
- Thirty sewing machines.
- Twenty freezers.
In addition, the widows were given hundreds of sets of clothes.
Personal life
Chief Oborevwori’s wife is Mrs Oborevwori Tobore. She was reportedly kidnapped in 2011 in Okpe Local Government Area of Osubi Road of Delta State.
The criminals were quickly arrested and sentenced to 21 years in prison.
