Early life and education
Christopher Charles Cuomo was born on August 9, 1970, in Queens, New York. He is the youngest child of Mario Cuomo, former governor of New York, and Matilda Cuomo. He grew up with his siblings, Andrew Cuomo, Madeline Cuomo, Maria Cuomo Cole, and Margaret L. Cuomo.
Cuomo attended Immaculate Conception School in Jamaica, Queens, and Albany Academy, a private college preparatory school in Albany, New York.
He then attended Yale University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, followed by Fordham University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1995. Cuomo is a licensed attorney.
Career
Chris Cuomo began his media career by appearing on CNBC, MSNBC, and CNN, discussing social and political issues. He later worked as a reporter and political analyst for Fox News, reporting on social issues.
Cuomo became the youngest correspondent ever on ABC’s news magazine show 20/20. He later hosted Good Morning America from 2006 to 2009 and served as ABC’s chief law and justice correspondent. He also hosted two weekly shows, “The Real Deal” and “Focus on Faith.”
In 2013, Cuomo co-hosted the morning show “New Day” on CNN, which was recognized for its coverage of the Trump presidency. He then hosted the primetime show “Cuomo Prime Time” from 2018 until he left the network in December 2021 amid controversy surrounding his involvement in the political scandal involving his brother Andrew Cuomo.
