Christopher William D’Elia, also known as Chris D’Elia, is a famous stand-up comedian, actor, writer and rapper from Los Angeles, born March 29, 1980.
He is best remembered for his roles as Alex Miller on the NBC comedy Whitney and as Danny Burton on the NBC comedy Undateable.
In appreciation of his excellent performance in the film, Chris D’Elia has also taken on many roles and been invited to participate in several television series.

Early life and education
Chris D’Elia was born on March 29, 1980 in Montclair, New Jersey, United States. His parents are interior decorator Ellie D’Elia (née Dombroski) and television producer and director Bill D’Elia.
His mother, Ellie D’Elia, is of Italian and Polish ancestry, and his father, Bill D’Elia, is a second-generation Italian-American.
Matt D’Elia, an actor and filmmaker, is his younger brother. Chris D’Elia’s family moved to Los Angeles when he was 12, and in the late 1990s he attended La Cañada High School.
Career
Chris D’Elia began acting in high school and made a few guest appearances on Chicago Hope. He studied acting at New York University but dropped out after a year because he didn’t like college. He later appeared in a direct-to-DVD film. He began writing scripts in his spare time while working as an actor. He decided to try stand-up comedy when he was 25 because he had always wanted to do it.
Chris D’Elia has been performing stand-up comedy since 2006. His first performance was at the Ha Ha Café in North Hollywood. He considers himself a stand-up comedian who also performs on stage.
He has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Comedy Central Presents, and Showtime’s Live Nude Comedy. Chris D’Elia gained more recognition as a regular on the TBS comedy series Glory Daze, which only ran for one season. He was first cast as a main character for the pilot episode, but was eventually made a series regular. He then co-starred with comedian Whitney Cummings on the NBC comedy series Whitney for two seasons.
Along with Bryan Callen and Will Sasso, Chris D’Elia was one of the three hosts of the Ten Minute Podcast from 2012 to 2015. Since February 2017, he has been the host of the weekly podcast Congratulations with Chris D’Elia, one of the top 20 comedy podcasts worldwide.

Along with special guest Ron Funches, he headlined the 2016 Chicago Leafly 420 Comedy Tour. Chris D’Elia was revealed to have been cast in the recurring role of Henderson in the second season of Netflix’s horror series You in March 2019.
Chris D’Elia acknowledged that Eminem is one of the greatest rappers of all time by imitating the rapper and mocking his middle-aged fans in an April 2018 episode of his Congratulations podcast. He posted videos online in September 2018 (in his car) and January 2019, in which he imitated Eminem’s rap again after receiving positive feedback for his first attempt (in his garage).
An audio sample from the driving scene was later used in Logic and Eminem’s song Homicide, released in May 2019. Chris D’Elia stated that being involved in the song was a great honor and that he did not ask for compensation.
Chris D’Elia later played a major role in the song’s music video, which was released in June 2019 and featured someone else performing each of the rapper’s verses or lip-syncing: In honor of a humorous internet meme that claimed Logic and Eminem were the same person, actor Chauncey Leopardi played Logic, while Chris D’Elia played Eminem, mirroring Chris D’Elia’s appearance in the car video.

Chris D’Elia married actress Emily Montague in 2006. They divorced in 2010. Chris D’Elia married his longtime girlfriend, Kristin Taylor, on June 18, 2022. Their marriage produced a son named Calvin D’Elia, who was born in 2020.
Although Chris D’Elia’s characters on the TV shows Whitney (Alex Miller) and Undateable (Danny Burton) are both said to be heavy drinkers, it is said that he has never used drugs or alcohol.
Chris D’Elia lives in the Beachwood Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles. He has a tattoo on his neck.
