Christian Wilson was born on January 30, 1947, in Portland, Oregon. His parents were Eric Wilson and Kristie Young Wilson. After retiring from the Navy and Oregon State, he entered the entertainment industry with a minor role on the TV series Grimm. He has three siblings: Matt Wilson, Chance Wilson, and Cayden Wilson.

He served as organist at the Chapel Royal at the Tower of London, assistant organist at Christ Church, Oxford, and director of music at Brasenose College. He was a member of the Principal Choir at Westminster Abbey. He then served as associate organist at Perth Cathedral in Western Australia before being awarded a scholarship to Christ Church, Oxford.
Christian Wilson remained at Oxford to pursue a PhD, studying the musical styles and dramatic conventions associated with the Mass in late medieval England. A second Master’s degree in solo organ/harpsichord at the Stuttgart Conservatory launched Christian’s independent performing career as an organist and conductor, which has taken him to countless locations across five continents.

With his 2012 performance, he became the eighth performer in the world to perform Francis Pott’s monumental organ symphony, Christus, which is often referred to as the Mount Everest of the organ repertoire.
Christian Wilson is Director of Music at Brasenose College, Oxford, Lecturer in Music at Christ Church, and Assistant Master of Music at the Chapel Royal, Tower of London. He performs regularly on BBC Radio and Television, while maintaining a busy schedule as a pianist and musicologist.
