Chromeo is a Canadian music duo that has been making music together since 2002. The two members are David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel. They met as teenagers in Montreal. They started by making hip-hop music together.

Their musical style is a fusion of funk, dance and pop. Their music is often compared to 1980s bands such as Hall & Oates and Prince. They released their first album, “She’s in Control,” in 2004. One of the songs on the album, “Needy Girl,” became a hit in clubs around the world.
After a break, they released more albums like Fancy Footwork in 2007 and Business Casual in 2010. Their music received positive reviews from critics. In 2014, they released White Women and in 2018, Head Over Heels. They received a Grammy nomination for a song from Head Over Heels.
In addition to music, Dave 1 studied French literature at Columbia University, but he paused his studies due to the success of the band. P-Thugg plays keyboards, synthesizer, bass, and talkie for Chromeo. They also founded their own record label “Juliet Records” in 2020. They released a live album in 2021.
