Clive Augustus Myrie was born on August 25, 1964 in Farnworth, Lancashire, England and he will be 59 years old in 2023.
He was born to Jamaican immigrant parents who moved to the UK in the 1960s. His mother reportedly worked as a seamstress for Mary Quant, and his father was a factory worker.
Myrie attended Hayward Grammar School in the Great Lever area of Bolton and then studied at Bolton Sixth Form College, where he completed his Alevels. In 1985, he graduated from the University of Sussex with a Bachelor of Laws degree.

Clive Myrie is married to Catherine Myrie, an upholsterer and furniture restorer. They met at the launch of a book about Swiss cheese in London in 1992.

Career
Clive Myrie began his career at the BBC in 1987 as a trainee reporter for a local radio station. He worked as a reporter for Radio Bristol and later joined Points West, BBC Television and Radio News.
In 1996, he became a foreign correspondent for the BBC and reported from more than 80 countries. He has covered major events such as the impeachment of US President Bill Clinton and the wars in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Myrie worked as a BBC correspondent in Tokyo and Los Angeles before becoming BBC Asia Correspondent in 2002.

He also worked as a Paris correspondent from 2006 to 2007. In addition to reporting foreign news, Myrie also presents various news programs on BBC News, including BBC Weekend News and weekday news bulletins on BBC One .
